| IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING THE NEW GEOTAB SYSTEM, THIS MESSAGE IS FOR YOU NOW; IF YOU ARE NOT USING GEOTAB YET, PLEASE NOTE THIS INFORMATION FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: Over the next couple of days we will be installing the PrePass MOTION app on your tablets to be used in conjunction with Geotab/Transflo. This service works with both Geotab and the PrePass transponder in the truck to notify you on your tablet screen of weigh stations and hazards on your route with no interaction required from you. When a you are approaching a weigh station or hazard (these are determined by existing geofences) you will receive an on-screen notification at 2 miles and then 1 mile away. If approaching a weigh station you will be prompted on-screen to do one of the following: Bypass Pull in Follow transponder (weigh stations not transponder-compatible) Follow road signs (weigh stations not RFID-compatible) You will also receive notifications when approaching the following geofenced hazards: High wind area Steep grade No commercial vehicle area Brake check and chain-up area Work zone Runaway truck ramp There are also several states who have partnered with PrePass to provide push notifications for major traffic issues such as accidents or construction delays. When you reach a geofenced area the MOTION app will present the notification. Once you leave the geofence, the notification will automatically go away so you don’t need to clear or accept the notification. Over the next 24-48 hours all you Drivers using Geotab should notice the app has been added to your tablet. There is nothing you need to do within the MOTION app. You will receive an on-screen prompt (screenshot below) asking for permission to open MOTION. When you receive the prompt you should click “Open” and the app will run in the background.  Please contact your Fleet Manager if you have any questions. Thank you. |
